As the southwest monsoon weakens, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in certain regions of Rajasthan starting Saturday. According to the meteorological department, there will be a decrease in rainfall activities across the state for a week, although rain is expected in the northeastern areas from August 9.
From August 9 to 12, light to moderate showers are likely in parts of Bharatpur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, and Jaipur divisions. The following week, from August 15 to 21, an increase in rainfall activities is predicted across most areas of the state.
The forecast indicates that during this period, southern regions will experience above-normal rainfall, while other areas will see rainfall around normal levels. By Saturday morning, light to moderate rain was recorded in parts of eastern Rajasthan, with some locations experiencing heavy rainfall.
In contrast, western Rajasthan remained dry. The highest rainfall was recorded in Mahwa (Dausa) at 71.0 millimeters, while the maximum temperature reached 38.7 degrees Celsius in Sri Ganganagar.
